Whilst fitting wider swept-back racks might not have too serious an effect
on the stability of a predominately Bieker fleet, in the UK we still have a
large number of competitive boats (four of the top ten in Andy's list)
without racks; these would be much more complex/expensive to convert. My
worry is that these boats would be seen as another generation of
'outclassed' boats, which will adversely affect the class's image. Would it
be worth waiting a few more years, by which time it's likely that almost
every competitive boat in the fleet has easily-extendable racks?
