In the US - we will propose having a couple of boats test the wider and swept aft racks next year as an experiment in the class. See how they perform, the incremental cost, etc.
Rise over floor rule should be changed for cleanup purposes (no bumps)
We talked about eliminating the mast rules against pre-bend, and allowing airfoil sections and rotation, but there was no consensus at this time. Again - it may be worth a trial, but no one jumped up to say they wanted to spend the money to try it.
Keeping the class stable was a desire, but tempered by a perceived need for greater leverage against the existing sail plan. Weight surprisingly was not an issue. While the current boats are coming in light - after small repairs, and potentially wider racks - the weight pops right back up again.
Personal opinion: Moving the rise of floor measurement aft is the only item below that would immediately change the hull - and I think we should avoid that change.
