Just a reminder that the Illiana Yacht Club is hosting a bring what you
got regatta Sept. 18th & 19th. Come race the international
canoes, try to best the other boats and discover the wonderful lake with
a tollway running thru it.
Races start at 10:30am
To visit or join in the action, from Chicago take 94south to the skyway
to Indiana (east). Pay the $2 toll and exit right and turn
right at state line road south by the McDonalds. Follow thru two stop
signs until it ends, turn left on 106th and pull over to the big
safety yellow gate by the electrical sub-station. The combo will be
1234. (please lock the gate upon entering and
exiting.) follow the gravel road parallel to the tollway (you will be on
the west side) and follow the signs under the tollway (to
the east side) over the tracks (and to grandmothers house we go......)
and down the winding road.
top by for dinner at least, check the place out and think about all the
spring and fall sailing you could be doing when its to cold
and rough on lake Michigan......
