Pre 96 rules racing is being actively encouraged in the UK, we call them
penultimates: http://gbr.i14.org/penultimate/
We have training and saw 9 boats at the last nationals.

That is how I got into the fleet and I think it is an excellent feature of
the class. You can get a boat very cheaply and race with people who have
similar experience and get to learn about the new rules boats for when you
can afford one!
