I don't think we need numbers on the kites. With starts and finishes upwind,
when the numbers matter, they're clearly visible.

I agree; in practice it doesn't make boats significantly easier to identify,
especially if we have numbers on the bow anyway. It makes it harder to
borrow kites from other competitors, and if the numbers are inked on (as
they often are in many classes) it makes it harder to race with second-hand
kites.
