2 years away seems about right for changes - we certainly wouldn't want to do anything before Beer.
Issues that seems to come up time and again:
Rule simplifications
Measured weight reductions
Keeping in mind cost issues and what it means to be a 14. (All endless debate points.)
Do we need a technical group? Maybe as consultants. However, as owners, it is our right and responsibility to drive changes that we see fit. We haven't done that as a group - which is why we are still chatting rather than having these discussions lead to rule proposals.
Any one here willing to take this on, most likely with a group of interested owners from various fleets and go through the rules change proposal process? If not - while these little debates are interesting - nothing is really going to happen.
