Earlier this week Malcolm Strong, son of David and brother of Peter &
Philip died after a battle with cancer. Mal together with his brothers
have been the amongst strongest advocates of 14's for the last 25 years
here in Oz. Mal will be remembered sailing the infamous Black Maggot and
Snake Tales. While not a race winner, Mal was a competitor who enjoyed
the boat and the people greatly. I know he was looking forward to sail
in the 99 Worlds before he fell ill but enjoyed watching from aboard Sea
Bird. Mal took me on my first sail of a 14. At 38 he was to young to
die.
Our sympathy go to wife Andrea, children Sarah & Jessica and the Strong
family
