The boat in the movie Wind is Eric Arens' old Aussie boat, Divine Madness
(from the Devine family) that was painted blue for the movie and then washed
off after to it's original black. The shot was filmed in the SF Bay area
after they had filmed all the sailing shots in Perth and they just needed a
picture of a boat on land.
The sailing shots were really good because the technical director was Leslie
De Meuse, whose father was a big boat sailor of rather great renown and she
was at one point married to my crew when we won the US Nationals in 73 after
the World Team Races. Funny what a small world we live in.
