Hello folks.
I was wondering if some people would have some suggestions and comments
about a boat I am considering buying. First of all...info on me. I am
looking for a totally fun fast boat for learning with. Dual trap (done the
505 thing...got bored), Asym, etc. The I-14 looked perfect. Plus I have a
friend on the Chesapeake bay that races often with them, so he would be a
good resource. I am not looking for hard core racing, so having a
"competitive" boat is not necessary at all. Plus the budget is very low as
I just bought a new Lighting. I sail in an area that is dominated by Stars
and Lightings, no skiffs, yet is the perfect place for them...flat water all
the time! Anyway...looking basiclly for a boat I can beat up, sail fast,
have fun with, and most importantly learn on.
Anyway, there is a local boat for sale with the right "stuff". It is an
Ames II design that I saw on the web page. I suppose this is a pre 1996
rules boat?
Basiclly I am looking for comments on the boat, what to look for, etc.
I looked over the buyer's guide and some past e-mails, but would like more
specifics if possible.
