I agree. I think the comparative speed issue is a red
herring.

Could somebody in the UK simply ask some of the RS sailors
why they picked an RS over the 14? I bet you'll get the same
answers I did ("it's a one-design" etc).

If anybody can find an RS or 49er owner who says, "I didn't
buy a 14 because it's too slow, too narrow, and too short,"
I'd like to talk to that person.

This debate should be about what *current 14 sailors* want,
not about what *other* people *might* want.

Just vote according to your self-interest and let's move on.
