I feel i should know better than to dive into the e-mail wars but there is a
lot of 'silly' comment at the moment on the list. I'm afraid the person who
commented on adpoting twin trapezes as simple is a little ill informed. At
that time in the UK 14's were wooden with pivoting centre boards, the rigs
and hulls could not cope with the loads and consequently half the fleet was
obsoleted over night. Also many class stalwarts gave up at that time due to
refusing to accept trapezing for helms.

The truth is that 14's have develpoed by changing their rules not by
evolution within a rigid set of rules. The foiled rudder
