Re the history book - to give credit where it's due, Tom Vaughan was the
author - I believe of all three editions, ranging from 1964 to 1989. The book
focuses mainly on the history of the class in the UK (dating back from things
like the 'West of England Conference Dinghy' and the 'Norfolk Dinghy' in the
1880's) - but also refers periodically to what was going on in other countries
at various times and generally to how the class developed globally (including
occasional vigorous debates about the desirability or otherwise of various
developments, which sounds familiar!). I think it's now out of print although
as Andy says, there are occasional conversations about an update.
Cheers
Colin Smith
