Does anyone know how many years I have been waiting to be asked this
question ??
"Bumkin" - similar to ,but not the same as "Pugwash", i.e. a nautical term.
It is a stickyout thingy - stop me if I am getting too technical- which
is attached to the transom of a boat, to which is sheeted the clew of the
main sail or boom. At one time it was obviously thought of as being a bit of
a whiz gizmo, but sadly not any more. Maybe the rule sages of the past knew
we wouldn't want one anyway.
Its use is probably restricted these days to hold or suspend a barbecue off
the back of a yacht. This stops the sausages from getting wet by preventing
the vessel itself from becoming the barbecue.
BTW it is indeed a brave fellow who searches for such a word on Google.
There is a lot funny things going on out there!!,
so I am told.
Rollo Pyper.

in the next installment I might read though what I post.
I was going to say isn't permanent.
Maybe we should have a policy (change the constitution) of re-voting on
Rule 18 (Prohibitions) every 3 years or at every world championships or
something...
What the hell is a bumpkin anyway. I want one, they must make us faster. A
quick search on the google images comes up with these:
