International 14s sail at SD NOOD March 16-18, 2001
We will be sailing on San Diego's South Bay, south of the Coronado
bridge similar to last year. Flat, warm water, sunny skies with winds
generally 8-18 kts. You will have the option of sailing out of "Fiddlers
Cove" on Coronado's Silver Strand, vs.. SDYC. This is a U.S. Navy Sailing
facility, which will provide beach launching and storage of boats for the
weekend. It is approx.. 1/2 mile from the weather mark. There will be
extensive parties Thur.-Sun. at SDYC. The regatta is sponsored by Sam
Adams, and I'm sure the "Red hats" will be in the vicinity. I'm planning an
evening in the Gas Lamp Quarter for St. Patrick's Day for those interested.
There will be some penultimate boats at the regatta, which will have
separate awards if enough boats present. There is building interest in 14s
in San Diego and So. Cal., I believe some of this is a direct result of this
regatta last year.
Most of the US fleet should have received a Notice of Race by now via
snail mail. If you did not receive this notice you can obtain it on line

Entries must be received by Feb. 26, or be subject to late fees. Race
packets can be picked up at SDYC Thur. 3/15 1700-1900 or Fri 3/16 0900-1000.
Planned windward/leewards 3 races Fri., 3 races Sat., 2 races Sun.
I encourage all of the CA boats, as well as Seattle, East Coast,
Canadians and others to come to San Diego and start your spring sailing
season with warm water and breeze. Some boats may be available for charter
for those interested. Renee and I will have some limited floor space
