Due to popular demand, we're probably running the supercup racing
back-to-back this Sunday, straight after the two long morning races. I'll
confirm on the day, but in the meantime you're all warned to bring bananas,
water bottles, hip flasks etc. There'll be a short break while the course is
re-set, but I've warned the club and they'll do it as quickly as possible.
Lunch will still be available afterwards. We're trying this for the
following reasons:
* It makes it harder for Sibby to sneak off when no-one's looking
* We only have to rig up once, which halves the chances of getting the
jibsheets wrong
* It gives Victor an extra incentive to bring all of his boat in one
go
* An earlier overall finish may improve brownie point earning
potential
A number of crews have also pointed out that the extended exertion will be
good fitness training. For anyone who wants to do more fitness work,
there'll be a run round the reservoir after lunch, followed by circuits. To
replicate the workload of racing, helms may use bicycles for the run, and
crews will do the circuits while their helms shout derogatory comments.
